Graphic designer by day, illustrator and doll creatrix by night, Carisa Swenson has been creating art dolls since 2006 after taking a stop-motion animation class and unexpectedly discovering a passion for creating posable, mixed media creatures. This was further encouraged by studying with world-renowned doll artist Wendy Froud. Since then, her work has been in several exhibitions and publications, from the Melbourne Fringe Festival, to NYU’s acclaimed annual “Small Works Show”, Art Doll Quarterly and most recently, Spectrum 17, due to release October 2010.
